Elements of Mise en Scene

Jake and Dom made sure that they wore the same things for every filming day, for the consistency of the shots. As of the winter weather conditions, we went for plain, dull coloured coats, scarves and hats to keep the realism in the film. It was also quite a convenient dress code, as they were all wrapped up, which added to the hidden identity and suspicion of the characters.

We were very particular about the settings we picked, the establishing shot was filmed at the front of the college so it is clear where the action is taking place from the start. We picked the bridge as a good place to show Jake walking to the main room, as the baring that covers the sides gives the effect of caging which has connotations of entrapment and danger. This fits our genre very well as the college is trapped under the characters crime that is going to be committed and the characters are putting themselves in danger.

The room where the main action and the dialogue took place was very suitable because it isn't used for anything in the college,  which makes it seem isolated and abandoned. It's also very run down looking and you can tell it's not particularly cared for. This fits our action very well as crime is going on in there; no one goes there so nothing would be suspected.
